Help please with quarantine tank chem

We got a yellow tang 2 days ago. He's currently in a quarantine tank (50L ish), on his own, with a powerhead, sponge filter and some upvc piping for 'decor' and a heater. Over the last 24hrs or so the water has gone milky/cloudy (algal bloom?? we added a little water from our main tank which could have added some algae?) and the pH has dropped to 7.4. His resps are so high I can't actually count them although he's swimming around calmly and smoothly and eating plenty, no white spots/ patches/ red streaks or anything we would associate with disease or parasites. The surface of the water is being well disturbed by a korallia powerhead so there should be sufficient gas exchange going on although the tank is much deeped than it is wide if that makes any difference?? Do we need to asjust the pH rapidly to a less acidic level and if so how do we go about it?? Our RO pH is the same and we've run out of salt if that makes any difference? The alk of the tank is 160 fyi. Ammonia = 0, Nitrate = 5, Ca = 400, SG 1.025.

Was the filter seeded? You say 0 ammonia but just asking. Any meds in tank? Can run carbon to clear up water, do a large water change. They can have parasite etc in their gills that you can't see. Fresh water dip for flukes maybe

As long as the ammonia is zero, the filter should be fine. I might get a second opinion, if that were easy. What are the salinity and alkalinity levels? pH at 7.4 is low. I wonder whether there might be a measurement issue.

does the cloudiness of the water have a slight yellowish/greenish tint to it. if not, I would be incline to say it's more of a bacteria bloom than an algae bloom.
