small white tube like things

Hi , I have small white tube like things in my overflow a lot of them. and upon further inspection noticed they have small feather duster type things coming out of one end. red. are these small feather dusters? or bad things there kind of hard also.

Thanks I thought I was going to have to scape the heck out of my overflow.Why don't I see any in the tank?

For whatever reason these things tend to prefer the shadows so to say. Even though you don't see them in the DT, I'm sure they're there. There may be something in your tank that's eating them too. It's takes some time to build that shell and the worms are quite vulnerable.

Agreed. I would say it's predatation in the display and the fact that we are always scraping the viewing area. I've had them grow in the back wall of the tank but not in the numbers you see in overflows and sumps.
