Another Apex question

I got a used apex classic on selling forum weeks ago without a power supply.

can anyone tell me what is the input/output voltage and the amperage?

I may have a power supply from an old apex that will work. but I have a box full off power supplies.

There is no power supply. The EB8 plugs into an outlet and a Aquabus cable runs from the controller to the EB8. Did you not get the EB8 (or 4)?

The apex generally doesn't run on an external power supply. The power is provided to the head unit by the aqualink(sp?) cable running between the head unit and the EB8.

oh. I do remember that it powers via eb8 now.

but doesnt it have an input for a power supply too?

Does it not come with that power supply?

for some reason a few years back I remember apex had me plugging in a power supply at the brain to troubleshoot an issue.

Cant remember what it was.

In what circumstance would that power supply be needed?

The power supply is for power failure detection. You plug it into a UPS and if the head unit sees power there but not from the eb8 it will notify you of a power failure. This assumes that your router and modem are also on an UPS and still functioning though.
