Natures Ocean Live Sand - add to existing tank
I used natures ocean live sand when I started up the tank. I now have some bare spots that I want to fill so I bought a few more bags. Do I need to rinse the sand before putting it in? You don't rinse it when first putting it in but not sure if I should now.
Thanks |

How long has the tank been set up for? If it's still relatively new then I would just dump the sand in, but if it's been set up for quite awhile then you can probably rinse it off. Either way though you might want to incorporate some type of mechanical filtration for the next week or so to polish the water for you.

If only up for two months I would pour off what you can outside and put it in. Either lower the bag to the bottom or use a pvc pipe as a funnel to avoid the worst of the impending sandstorm. It will be basically the same as when you first set up.
