rubbing alcohol will cause acrylic to craze, in other words it will cause tiny fractures of the acrylic. DO NOT USE

For the same reason, you should never dose NOPOX from an acrylic container. The ethanol in the NOPOX will destroy the dosing container.

I've managed to remove pen and marker from acrylic tanks with wetted magic erasers. Failing that, try some Brillianize plastic cleaner - perfectly safe for acrylic.

As mentioned above, do not use rubbing alcohol on acrylic. It can damage the acrylic. If you want to remove marker from acrylic, polish it out using some 12,000 grit wet sand paper which is polishing grit followed by Novus 1 and Novus 2. Heck, just regular acrylic polish should remove it without the use of the sand paper. Believe it or not, taking permanent marker and going over the spot and then wiping it off while the mark is wet will usually remove it too. The caveat is that the chemicals in the permanent marker probably aren't good for the acrylic either.
This video gives a little glimpse of what happens when rubbing alcohol is applied to a bent piece of thin acrylic.
