Will carbon + phosGuard mix soaked in muriatic acid explode?

I've cleaned activated carbon with muriatic acid before with no issues. However some of my old stock is a mix of seachem matrix carbon and phosguard seagel will the phosguard react badly with a five day muriatic acid soak?

Oh, well, sorry about the house. No, that combination won't "explode", but if the carbon contains some calcium carbonate, some gas might be produced. I wouldn't make a tight seal, personally. Five days is a very long soak. I suspect an hour would be more than enough.
