Getting my first skimmer!
Hey yall! I've run my tanks without skimmers, but its time to give one a shot. I have a 40 gallon breeder with a 20L sump. Sump has 3/4 of LR in it, but some can be moved or taken out for space. I would like a internal skimmer, as there isn't much room outside of the sump tank itself. But I have about 9 inches of head room (above the top of the tank, about 21+ total), so that shouldn't be an issue. Whats a good, and cheap starter skimmer? Id like to be 100 or less, but definitely well less then 200 for sure. I have a low flow through my sump, like 200 gph. But Id rather have a higher capable skimmer in case I upgrade, but thats more of a option then a need. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance! |

SCA 301, it takes a week or two to break in so be patient but once it’s broken in it skims like a rockstar. I’ll be selling mine to get a bigger one for a bigger system soon.
