old equipment

maybe an odd question but besides selling. what does everyone due with there old equipment? I have several protein skimmers. thought of making reactors out of them.. i have huge wet dry. anyone due anything creative with them???. etc. just wondering. always looking for creative ideas.

I went to make a reactor last month out of an old red sea berlin skimmer that was 15 years old. Realized I chucked it a long time ago. The tubular plastic is always worth saving for those "you need it" moments.

wet/dry = chaeto reactor, small fuge

I tossed the wet dry and sold the skimmer. Every other piece of equipment that I've replaced, I did so because they failed - and I tossed em.

I always save things that are still working when I upgrade. Free backups. Periodically, I'll sort through the junk and toss a few things, but there are always a couple boxes full of pieces/parts available.
