Upgrade lighting question
He'll rc
Recently just upgrade my tank. I got a visio reef ready 80 gallon. I've been wanting to upgrade my black box lights. And I'm mixed on the lights I should get. Now the tank has two braces which I really don't care for but hey I can't dawg the wife for a present. So I've been thinking about the ap700 but I don't want to supplement t5 as the lights will be hanging over the tank no canopy. Now I really eventually want all sps. Been hearing mixed reviews about keeping all sps with the ap700. So I know two gen4 radions will do the trick but I'm really leaning towards t5 I can always add some leds later. Questions here Will bracing affect coverage? Can I get away with a 36 inch ati for full coverage or should I go the full length of the tank 48? How many bulbs would be the best fit for 48x18 Which ati sunpower set up do you think would best fit my 48x18x24? Also what bulbs would you suggest. If its personal preference may I have some suggestion what shall grow sps the best and make the color pop? Thank in advanced Sent from my SM-J727T1 using Tapatalk

A 6 or 8 bulb 36" ATI would rock, only down side is high cost of bulb replacements. I have seen the AP700 running on a tank and it is pretty nice, very blue and will grow sps. I like the led t5 hybrid fixtures, really makes a great combo. I still love the MH for sps dominated reefs.

I hear yah about ap700 seen them in person like them a lot. My issue is the research and the par testing done will not give me enough to dominate sps

https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/auror...giesemann.html this a truely outstanding light. The light produced is a very nice mix and has a great shimmer, will grow anything.
Or 2x XR30 Pro. I am really liking led t5 mixed though for a sps reef. This combo is rhe only rhing I feel truely 100% replaces MH.

I’ve been through most led options, vertex illumina, AI hydra 26 hd, radion g4 pro etc......
Six months ago I switched to an ATI 24in six bulb dimmable & I gotta say..... my tank has never been better! Corals growing noticeably. I did order a reef bright 24 in actinic strip to attach to the ATI so I could get the am & pm super blue glow. After last six months I don’t think I will ever go back to led only! I honestly been leaning toward ati and figured I'd add leds. I just didn't know how many bulbs and would a 36 inch do. Or get 48 .Really interested in the bulb choice everyone uses
