BioPellets and cyano ?
I have been running bio pellets for about 2 months starting at 1/4 of the reccomended dose and havent topped it up since. I didnt see an initial bacteria bloom but a month later i have had cyano/dinoflagellates creeping up on the sandbed. My corals however have been looking better than before and growing faster than ever including my birdsnest and xenia.
Is it possible that biofilm is not being produced enough to keep a good foam head in the skimmer and so it accumulates and feeds the cyano. Should i increase/decrase the number of biopellets? And whats the best course of action for the cyano in regards to the biopellets ? 20 gallon tank 10 gallon sump with refugium. Phosban reactor for biopellets is plumbed directly into a Coralife 65 G Skimmer Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk |
