Anemone shrinking after algae bloom
I recently had an extreme algae bloom due to my lights being on for too long. I did 10% water changes every few days, and I ultimately added a UV skimmer which completely cleared my water. Ever since the bloom, my anemone that was once around 5 inches in diameter has shrunken to about 1.5 inches. The tentacles have also become very thin. I was advised at my lfs not to feed my corals during the algae bloom to not add as many nutrients to the tank, so i had not fed my anemone mysis in about 2 weeks, whereas I usually feed him 2-3 times a week.
I have also noticed that it is drooping and its stalk has gotten much thinner. What should I be doing to get my anemone back in shape again? Specific Gravity: 1.0255 Nitrite: around 0 ppm Ammonia: around 0 ppm Nitrate: 0 ppm ph: 8.1 (i added some marine buffer to up it) calcium: 410 |
