Royal Gramma - pros VS cons

I hadn’t planned to add ANY other fish to my DT, but...

Current fish pop:
One Spot Foxface - 6”
Hippo Tang - 5”+/-
Yellow Tang - 4.5”
Diamond Watchman Goby - 4.5”+
Maroon Gold Stripe Clown - 3”
2.5” and under -
Matted Filefish
Six B/G Chromis
(4 cleaner shrimp, 1 fire shrimp, multiple teeny hermits)

I’m CRAVING a Royal Gramma! I’ve read abt these till my eyes are bleeding, so I thought I’d ask y’all too.

D’ya think my other, larger, more aggressive (looking at *you* MGS) would make the RG an immediate snack?

I have lots of rock work hiding spots. Other tank specs in sig.

I haven’t added a fish in 3yrs, so...

You should be fine. They spend allot of time in the rocks hunting for copepods and stuff. They are peaceful fish. Might not be able to add another basslet.

RG, great fish, colourful, rather peaceful unless harassed, will increase his size by widening his mouth when confronted.....the only concern I see is the maroon......can be vicious.

I have one and they are fun to watch as they move in and around the rocks and corals. Mine especially loves going in between the plates of the Monti Capricornis coral.

Thanks, y’all! V encouraging. Probably gonna go there.

We call the MGS ‘The Murderer’ for a reason - hopefully, RG will avail itself of rock hideouts.

Never had a problem between my maroons and my royal grammas. I've always thought it was a good combo.
