Two Questions Re Maxspect Gyre Cord
I want to pass the control cord that leads from controller to the pump assembly of a Maxspect Gyre through bracing glass on top of tank, so I need to drill hole in the glass slab. This will keep things nice and and tidy, instead of having the cord wrap around the bracing slab and back underneath it.
Two questions: 1) about what is the diameter of the cable? I can't imaging it would be more than 1/2 inch, no? This will dictate minimum hole size. 2) has anyone else cut their cord in half for any reason? If so, how many conductors are in there? I want to cut the cord, pass through the glass, then splice back together. Thanks.

Why cut the cord? Can’t you drill the hole a tad bigger so the connector makes it though? Would seem easier to me anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

1) cable itself is 1/4 inch, watertight connector on end is just shy of 1 inch
2) the connector has 3 pins, so I’m assuming it’s 3 wires Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

very helpful! Thank you!
I hadn't bought yet so didn't know there was a connector. I thought it was hard-wired. That is a large connector; would require too large of a hole to pass through. So cutting the cord will have to be the way to go. I agree re three conductors. Thanks! Ken

The controller has short pigtails with connectors so you can hook up 2 gyres to one controller. When setting it up, you can simply swap the connectors around rather than reposition the gyres in the tank to switch which one is ‘A’ or ‘B’.
It’ll make sense when you see it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I really wish Maxspect would have put another connection closer to the pump side. It would make it so much easier to disconnect to clean without having to pull the wire all the way back to the controller.
