Multiple tangs
Have the opportunity to get another purple tang for our 180... I have a powder brown and a purple already. Both are around 4 inches so they are still on the younger side. Just wondering if people have done this without a blood bath. The purple in there now was put in last week and the powder brown about a month ago .. he chased the purple for a day but has been fine since

Probably best to do some re-aquascaping &/or remove old tangs for awhile and then add all 3 at the same time.

I’ve done that and now things are ok.
First 2 weeks were pretty bad but they have learned to live with each other. I learn this when I got a Zebrasoma Flavensce that always chase all fish, so I decide to get a second Zebrasoma and after fighting for a while they remain calm. |

2 Purples in the same tank is asking for trouble IMHO since they are known for being aggressive.

Wise choice
I just realize today that the brs 160 (youtube video from bulk reef supplies)have 2 purple, and they seem fine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

90% percent of the time, I would say no, but as long as you are prepared to take something out or make changes, then give it a try.
