New tank, clown constantly swimming along the glass
I recently finished cycling my tank. Tuesday I put a clown in and he has been eating fine but all he does all day is swim around the glass of the tank. I don't think I've ever seen him go anywhere near the rocks. Almost constantly right up against the glass or surface of the water
Is this normal behavior or is this alarming? Water params: salt: 1.026ish amon: 0 nitrite: 0 nitrate 5-10ppm range |

I'm also going to add that I feel like he is opening and closing his little mouth a lot

it's normal, my clowns have been paired with the back corner of the tank (or with the powerhead) for one year...

Super common for new clowns to explore tank, and actually very common for them to not eat first few days too during that period.
I'd expect soon it may pick a spot where it seems to kind of nest or stay close to.
