Thinking about going barebottom

I’ve got a converted 90g long running for about half a year now and I started with a fine substrate about an inch high and planned on making it a DSB by slowly adding sand. Since I’ve been reading up on DSB tanks I’ve found that siphoning and maintaining the substrate helps to keep from sandbed related crashes and was doing so on my current setup (admittedly anal and unnecessary from the getgo) the sandbed is slowly thinning out and I’ve been entertaining making it a barebottom since I also painted the underside of the tank during the conversion. Question is how the conversion would affect the inhabitants on the sand, currently it’s a short tentacle fungia, trachyphyllia, and maxima clam.
