Backup battery
Why do people get the ecotech backup battery that can only be used on the powerheads, costs 165 and doesn't have a lot of watts and volts when you can get something like this which is cheaper and lasts longer?

Watch This: Explains how UPSs work and why inverters use more power than you think.
https://youtu.be/-Ur-D37-juo There are some great UPS hacks out there as well that will provide weeks of power using a car battery to power powerheads. If I can find the one I am thinking about, ill post it.

I had the ecotech battery back up system at one time. The power never went out while I had it. When I got around to checking... the battery was dead. Anymore, I just rely on a generator.

I have two Ecotech battery backups that chained together and supply power to my Vectra M1 return pump. The last time I lost power they lasted roughly 21 hours before I switched over to the generator. I think they could have supported the pump longer but that's when I decided to switch over to the generator. That's not bad at all in my book! For me, they just have to last long enough for me to get the home and get the generator running and power spread through out the house on essential stuff, i.e. frig, freezer, coffee pot , lights, fish tank, etc.

If the runtime of the UPS is sufficient for the load and your needs then there is really no reason you can't use a UPS..
