Any PAR meter suggestions?
I have been thinking about getting a PAR meter. Just wondered if anyone knows of any decent ones that dont break the bank? I dont really need a $300 PAR meter that im only going to use to help with coral placements. Just something that will get me by.

You could always get an Apogee sensor and use a multimeter to read mV. You can then scale it to get a PAR reading. It's a little off when it comes to LEDs, but they have a correction table for it and as long as you're not doing something where you need super accurate numbers it gets you in the ballpark.

I have the Apex PAR meter meter and it works great. If you don't already have Apex though, there's no point in getting it.

I own an MQ-510 it is already setup to handle the underwater immersion conversation and LED light's. I am very happy with my full spectrum quantum meter from Apogee. I used to classify my tank between low, med, and high par. Additionally it's proven useful when transferring corals between tanks I can ensure they go to a spot with very close par in the next tank.

I have the seneye reef. works great. been tested and it gives similar reading to par reader 3 times it price. Only downside is that you have to make a stick to take readings around the tank.
