Regal Tang marks on face...are they normal??
Hi everyone,
Ive had a regal Tang for about 3 months who has been doing fine in general. Over the past few days/weeks however there have been some marks forming on her face from her eye to her nose. I have checked online and I can see that some other tangs have them, but as I'm a bit paranoid about this HLLE that I've heard so much about I was wondering whether it could be that? Can anyone help? Her behaviour is normal and she doesn't seem sick. Thanks! |

Tangs are notorious for that too. I have a gem that develope hlle and tattered fin with 0 aggression. He's fat but fins messed up and slight hlle. He looks terrible. I'm trying to nurse him back to help with lots of soak vitamin foods.

Can't tell from the picture - would need a close up. But Regal Tangs do have "pitted" faces, so it may very well not be HLLE.

I would start soaking food in Selcon or Vita-chem and making sure it is getting plenty of Nori each day. Are you going carbon? Heard that could cause HLLE.

Like mentioned above a close up shot would definitely help, but IMO the fish looks fine. Just feed it a wide variety of foods and it should be OK.
