Are there any advantages with one over the or is it just personal preference.

Most prefer black in a reef tank. The clear gets hard to keep clean.

I was told by a tank builder that the clear lasts longer than the black. Take that with a grain of salt.

I went clear with my current tank I had built. been going 2 years and have no issue with it being dirty. it will come down to preference

Just had my tank built with clear. I think it adds sort of a “blue glow” around the edges. I went starphire on 3 sides and I think I like the “blue glow” look better than the “black trim” look. Just my opinion.

Got the black silicone after 4 years of cheap clear silicone. Wow! what a difference. Never going back.

"I love the blacks"
