Missing Rock Flower Anemone

We recently added a small rock flower anemone. Put it at one end of the tank the first day, it moved to the other end the first night. We put it back about where we wanted it, and it stayed for a week. Fed it and it seemed to be happy.

Moved again last night, and now it's nowhere to be found; most likely in the sand bed behind our rocks. Didn't think they were suppose to move very much. Normal? Will we ever see it again? Would be pretty tough to pull apart the rocks to look for it. . . .

Like any and all anemones, it will go to the place in your tank it finds to be the nicest. Unfortunately, what it thinks of as nice and what you think of as nice are not necessarily the same thing.

Be happy it didn't decide it liked the intake from one of your powerheads. That can be, um, a bit messy.

In the future, place it in a PVC end cap or turbo snail shell. Put it in low flow or a cup of saltwater with no flow for a day so it can take hold. They usually won't move after that.

I have 6, placed all the same time on my rock face.
5 never moved and 1 took off and hid about 6 months ago.
Seen him a couple times over the months though.
Not much ya can do...

So there's some hope with others, I guess. Perhaps this guy will be unhappy again, and show up somewhere we can see it. . . .

Thanks!
