Green dust algae

Got GDA. Have read till my eyes are crossed. They say let it go without lights ....3 days, and up to 4 weeks. .......Just turn off lights no total blackout, .........leave lights on low no covering tank and they all say keep feeding small amounts and making water changes. What say the the experts

What are your N&P readings?
What type lighting? How long on daily?
How long has this tank been?

age of tank? pictures of issue?

I'd be skeptical of someone that said they don't have film algae to some extent in their tank..

With a new tank (1.5years or less basically) a good amount of film algae on rocks and specifically rocks that started as dry is very common and normal..
Even after that some level of film algae is normal..

Nitrate 10ppm. Phosphate. 0
Inverts all doing fine as is coral and fish. I clean tank glass everyday but this is not normal.
Tank is 2 1/2 years old. Red Sea E260lights that came with tank. In 16 years of reefing I have never seen anything like this. Clean glass eat dinner clean glass again, I’m beginning to take this thing personal. Dkh 6.7 lights on 8 hours ramped on and off. Thanks
