Glass Tank Question

I found a tank by my apartment dumpster no apparent damage so decided to take it. During a closer inspection found someone probably dropped it on its back corner. So just out of curiosity filled the tank few days ago and so far hasn't leaked. When running a finger nail along the outside area its totally smooth don't feel any cracks? Could it be trustworthy long term?

That damage seems to be strictly cosmetic.
I might add some extra silicone on the inside of that corner to be on the safe side.
I'm not sure if I would use it as a display tank in an apartment, but as a QT or backup tank it should be fine.

Depends.
If your going to put 100's if not 1000's of dollars in your tank would you risk that.
Not me!
Its not the stuff that ya see that gets ya....

Be safe, do it right, have piece of mind.

Going to use it as a refugium filled only halfway.

Just playing safe, your in an apartment, if it ever failed, that would be a problem. There was a member who this happened to, lost an ton in livestock but the clean up bill was over $50k. Make sure your insurance knows you have a tank.

I'm really not worried about a tank catastrophe with only 4" water depth.
