Hi,
The white looking barnacles have been in the tank for a couple of weeks. The red algae on the rocks has been for months. Last edited by mcardenas; 07/15/2020 at 02:42 PM. |

Normal reef stuff. The red/purple is coraline algae. It grows normally in our tanks and is a sign that the tank is maturing appropriately. You'll also see it build up on other surfaces in the tank. Use a razor blade to scrape it from the glass.
The white critters are little tube worms. You have a lot more than normal on your rock, but you'll be fine. It's not uncommon to have that many or more in a sump or on the back sides of rocks. It looks like you're doing just fine.
