Seio Super Flow Pump, Your Opinion

I am looking for your opinion on the Seio Super pump to replace my powerhead for water circulation in my reef tank. I would like to get the Tunze Stream, but looking for another substitute.

My opinion? I like them, I have a 820, 620, and 1500 in my 50gallon tank. I like the nice soft water movement that is not so spouty, but it really gets a lot of water moving at the same time.

The only problem is you can't use them on a wave maker, but if you aim them at each other they will be random on their own.

I don't have problems with mine restarting, but some people do.

I really like my m1100 on my 55. Gets the water moving like no other power head Ive tried. no start up problems for me as well. I plan to add another 1100 very soon.

Only thing I dont like is that there HUGE.

I have two 620s in my 75g, and two 620s in my 58g. I have had all four for just over a year now. Don't do what I do, but...I have all four of them on wavemakers. I clean them about every 4 months or so, never had a problem with restarting.

Toddrtrex,

I have a 75G (LPS and a few Softies). My return pump pushes 600GPH. I want to add two but am not sure if I should go with 620's or 820's. I read that the flow is fairly dispersed. Given your experience, what which would you suggest?

I also have a 600gph return. While I like the 620s, I wish I had the 820's. I think you will be more than happy with them. Don't get me wrong the 620s have a nice dispersed flow, if the water level gets low (during a WC ) they will suck in air and shot bubbles the whole length of the tank, but I would like the extra power. My 75 is over run with mushrooms and has 3 RBTA, they all seem to love the flow.

Thanks! I'll go with the 820's. I just read your other post on the pump thread. I have a T2 and a T3. (I bought the T3 as a backup when my T2 failed after 6 months. They replaced it of course). I love those pumps....dead silent!

Aren't they though, if it wasn't for water movement, I wouldn't even know they are on. The are pretty easy to clean to, once you realize that you need a metric allen wrench, opps

No they are not, there is even a sticker on the power cord saying not to do it. I decided to take a chance and try it, a year later all is fine. I am not saying others should do it, I am just sharing how mine have worked.

There have been talk about TAAM (Seio parent company ) coming out with a controler just for the Seios, but that is all I know about it.

I am using the waver maker part of my Reefkeeper controller.
They are an RC sponsor . Two of my Seio have been on one for a year now. The other two were on a Red Sea wavemaker pro, for just under a year. The only reason they aren't on it anymore is because I received another Reefkeeper for Xmas.

I really like SEIO pumps. I have been using them for a long time and I currently have one 1100 running on my 58 but I plan to add either one more 1100 or a 1500.

I LOVE the flow, but I'm one of the problems restarting people. I probably should have sent mine back and exchanged it... It has never restarted as it should.

I'm running two 620's in my 75 gal tank. (they replaced maxi1200's).
It is an improvement, but I'm thinking of adding two more rather than using two 820's (tank is filled mainly with sinularia flexabilis).
