Flame angelfish are sometimes reef-safe, more often not. They often end up nipping at corals. I wouldn't trust one.
The foxface is more likely to be reef-safe, I think. I'm not as familiar with that fish.

Both fish are in the "might be/might not be" catagory. Though they are RELATIVELY safer than non reef fish.
I have a coral beauty and the most she has even done was nip at a brain once but didn't do any damage. search "foxface" and you will get alot of results. MOST results are people saying their foxface was good. And a few saying they are not. You'll have a better change it will be ok, but there is always that small risk. I'm personally gonna try a foxface in my 125. Keeping them well fed will keep them less interested in corals IMO. |

Bertoni is right. I will add to that that I consider the foxface to be more "reef safe" than the flame. I do have a FF in my 125 and he has never even looked at a coral. I think if you do a search, you'll find that more people seem to have more success with FF's in reefs than the flames, at least from what I've found.

Agree on the fox face. Nice fish - hasn't done a bad thing in my tank. Def good at algea control which is nice to have in reserve.

I have a Foxface and I would have to say that it acts exactly like a tang. Only nibbling I've seen was on some algae.
