Particulate matter in the water column.

I'm wondering what you guys do to keep you water looking clear. My water after the addition of my new Seio powerhead has much more detritus then I can stand to look. It's constantly floating around the water column. Any thoughts on what to do to clear this up.

Also this is probably gonna sound crazy but can you ever have too much flow when it comes to your fish? I have my Seio 820 and a mag 7 return. So it's about 1200gph in the display. Do you think I should dial it back some?

As always help is much appreciated.

I am taking from this you have a sump?
What about a skimmer?
The fact that the particles are remaining suspeded is a good thing. You don't want them settling. Try buying a 100 micron filter sock and placing it on the end of your drain pipe in the sump. This will require weekly, if not more often, cleaning.

Yes I have a skimmer and a sump. The sump houses my skimmer and a small refugium with chaeto as well as my return. I'll try the filtersock hopefully that helps. There's quite a bit floating around.

the filter sock should clean it up in a matter of hours. I use to run one all the time but now only when i blow off the rocks until the water is clear. When I ran one all the time it would clog up in about 2 days.
