Sifter Goby Causing Cloudy Tank?

I have a 65 gallon reef with a 40 gallon sump/fuge and I have a lot of small particles floating in my tank. I spoke with the people at the LFS, who I have a lot of confidence in, and they told me that a lot of times this happens when you have a sifter goby. Has anyone else experienced this? Did it get better? I hate to give up the goby because I love how he keeps the substrate clean and moves the substrate around which gives it a natural look.

What type of Goby is it? Certain one;s will actually take the sand, swim around the tank and expel it throwing it everywhere. Others will stay on the bottom and do so and wont cause a mess.
They like to make themselves dens and they can make a mess when doing so since they move alot of sand to do this.

I have a diamond goby and the tank clouded for a little while (maybe a week) and then it settled down. He eventually sifted so much that the small particles just got filtered out and the cloud doesn't happen anymore.
