Question Best hang on tank skimmer for large aquarium{125g}i

I have converted my last fresh-water tank to salt I hope to build custom sump{someday}but for now am restricted to hang-on skimmer. What are my best options for a large{125g}reef?I have considered remora pro/mag drive, but tank size is at outer limits of this skimmer.ALL ADVISE APPRECIATED!

Unfortunately there's probably not any option that will work well. The Remora Pros really aren't capable on a tank that size. You could check out the Deltec hang-on. I've never used one but I know others on this board like them but I wouldn't be convinced one of those would really work well on a 125 either.

The Turboflotor Multi would do a pretty good job if you are not overstocked. I use the in sump version but have friends with the Multi and they swear by them.

Fine, I'll say it. Deltec makes a couple good HOBs.

The Deltec MCE600 is about the best HOB out there but is probably a bit undersized for a 125. Another option would be one of the new Tunze DOC skimmers (9010 or 9015) only problem is they are not HOB but hang-in-tank.

Thumbs up DIY CaptiveReef Skimmer

If you are handy, you can build this skimmer, just make it smaller and it hangs easily on the back of the tank, I'll be posting pics of
this design hanging on the side of my 120 gallon.

It's a counter current self leveling design, and it can be run with a venturi or Lime wood air diffuser.

THANX 4 ALL REPLIES!Looking into Tunze and/or deltec. Will consider d.i.y.also.Still in "design phase"and have not yet purchased lighting,so an "in tank" skimmer, such as Tunze 9010/9015 is possible(although would {-}surface area for lighting(6'l.tank-6"for skimmer=5'light.}Tunze/deltec appear comparable in$.Any persons with pros&cons...thanks for advise.

If it's temp. and you have a place to put a small shelf behind the tank to place a external skimmer I would go with one of the smaller external H&S skimmers. Just feed it w/ a small PH from the tank and drain it back into the tank. A150 F2001 maybe
