Corline

I don't seem to get coralline algae growing in my cube tank It 's on my live rock but the purple colour looks like it's fading a bit and some LR where the turbo's have been are white. My water tests are as follows

Date NO3 NO2 HP NH3/NH4 Ca2+ dKH Phoshatet Mg feb-06 0 0 8 0 480mg 8 0.3 1470
Why is it not growing have I a problem ?

How long has the tank been set up, and what lighting do you have?

Try raising your alkalinity a bit. My Coraline seems to start bleaching if my alkalinity gets below 9dKH

Is the 10k a Ushio bulb?

Do you have any measurable phosphates?

Your water readings look decent to me. I used Purple up in my tank only once a week. Definitely not as directed on bottle and man I have pink/purple all over the place now. Can't say for sure it was the Purple up that did it. Maybe just a coincidence. Tough to say for sure but coralline is everywhere and thats all I care about.

I agree with the Alk issue. I kept mine under 9 dkh for the first few months and now that I raised it and kept it around 10-11DKH I have coralline coming out of my butt.

I wasn't sure of the cause but I noticed my rocks and coralline turning white.I checked my Alk and it was low so I started to raise it up but haven't seen the affects yet since its only been a couple of days.
