Very nice, how big do they get max? I've never seen one larger than the average yellow tang, but I've only seen 2.

Do a search for Zebrasoma rostratum.

Fishbase.org - http://www.seaslugforum.net/factsheet.cfm?base=tripsp1

21 cm (~8.25 inches)

Nope, sorry. All measurements on fishbase.org are from wild specimens. Purple Tangs can reach 9", Sailfin Tangs around 15", Yellow Tangs are almost 8", Scopas Tangs are also almost 8", and Gem Tangs reach about 8.5"

its a fugus--my tang had this ones--treated with maracyn or maracyn II--worked famously--prior to purchase check with the dealer as there should be a chart that you follow the syptoms and it leads you to what medication is needed--believe maracyn was reef safe--don't quote me on that but--I think and make sur eyou feed this tang large amounts of seaweed--ice berg does nothing

Oh that is such a cool tang. I saw one once on the net, but I thought someone photoshoped a purple tang, in order to make it look black. How long did you wait for it? where did you get it? how much do they run for about?

It is an antibiotic. Antibiotic's kill bacteria. Not reef safe.

Yes you need Maracyn I would set up a QT tank asap. Do not treat your main tank.
