A flame angel should have lots of LR to pick at and swim through. They are way too active for a 12 gal tank. In a nano you should choose fish that are'nt as active~Oscellaris clown~ most Gobies~ small blenny~Assessor~firefish.
I would choose a cool blenny like a tailspot or bicolor. Lots of personality! |

Beautiful fish, tooooooo small tank. You need a way less active, way less waste producing fish. A 3" flame angel eats as much and poops as much as a small yellow tang. And I hope you'd never consider keeping one of those in a 12 gal. Especially after you consider the displacement of the rock this fish should have. I'd say put him in the 125, but they're known to pick at corals.

Way too small for anything but temporary QT, and even then I'd want a 20, maybe.
