New Skimmer ? No junk

I received my Coralife Super Skimmer yesterday. I hooked it up and I am getting lots of bubbles but no junk yet. it has been running for about an hour. How long before it starts producing some junk?

Geeze give the thing some time to work. It could be a few days before you see anything worth getting excited about.

Some skimmers can take up to a month to start working up to par. Usually after a week they are going good.

I've got a ss125 and it took a couple of days to start producing. I've run it 24/7 for almost a year on a 85G and get about 3 cups a week consistently of some pretty stinky stuff. Gonna start a 75G very soon and will move it to that tank. Would happily buy another if the need arose

Well my initial opinion of this Coralife SS is good. I tried a Bak Pak about 6 months ago and it was so noisey that I sent it back and got a refund. This skimmer is quiet and appears to be producing a lot of bubbles. So far none escaping into my tank though!

Love my CSS220, but takes a few days to get flowing.
I cleaned mine really well w/ clean rag and water b4 setup
Give it time
Instructions say to keep bubbles below collection cup for 72 hours to avoid overflow
Some people hook drain tube to a gallon jug(good idea) and some even put that in a 5 gal bucket to be safe
Mine did suddenly flow heavy 2nd day and I just caught b4 overflow. Now it's steady and works great

I have used the same skimmer in the past and it took 5 days for anything to turn the brown color you are looking for. Also you have to concider your dosing schedule. It could couse the skimmer to react slower or faster

Skimmers will often foam faster/better at first if you give them a good rinsing in hot water and/or vinegar to remove all of the production nasties left on the plastic.
