"...she swallowed the spider to catch the fly..."
why not figure out how to get rid of the algae w/o buying a fish you wouldn't otherwise stock?

i would recommend the fox face, but i dont think that fish would do well in a 37 gallon, if you are referring to the tank in your signature.... is it so bad that you cant maually remove it? setting up a fuge with micro algea would steal its nutrients i would think....

Grape caulerpa is a major PITA to get out of a display tank. Major.

I HATE THAT STUFF GrrrrrrRRRRrrrrrRRRR
![]() It turns out the best way to get rid of it is rapid water changes and a decreased photo-period. I got it out of a 30 gallon tank by doing 5 gallon water changes every day for 10 days. I pruned it out by hand as far as I could. This involved removing the rock with the offending algae and trying to get every last bit. I left an area of caulerpa that I could very easily remove as sort of a refugium. I also made sure that there was NO iodine going into my system apart from what was in the salt. I cut back feeding and went to a 3 hour photoperiod for a couple days. Eventually, the caulerpa that remained bleached out. I pulled out the dead stuff and it never came back.
