Question OM 4way OR Tunze Streams

For a 90gal with mainly SPS, Ricordea, a few clams and a couple LPS (Frogspawn, Hammer, and Bubble) which would you use for circulation?

A) a OM Superspuirt powered by a Dart

B) 2 stream 7000 on a multicontroller

I've got a supersquirt with a panworld 100PS-X which puts out 1270 gph on a 55 and like it. I think that a dart is way more flow than it can handle. 2000 GPH is the max. You'd have to go with a 4-way or use a bypass.

As far as what I'd choose, I think a lot of it depends on how you are going to plumb it and personal preference. If I had to do it again, I'd go with the streams since my tank is not drilled. It if was drilled no question I'd go with the OM.

I have a OM 4way with a blueline pump (1270gph) in my 90 gallon and think that it is great. I have 2 of the outputs coming directly out of holes drilled in the back of the tank and the other 2 coming over the top toward the front of the tank shooting toward the back. Definitely agree with cwklinge that the dart will be way too much flow for the squirt. In the end, if you go with the OM, the difference in price b/t the squirt and the 4-way is not a whole lot and after speaking with Paul at OM it sounds as if it is money well spent for the 4way.

The OM will definitely take a little more work to plump. I don't think that you can go wrong either way -- just personal preference. I didn't want to hang the Tunze in the tank and wanted a little cleaner look.

Really?

From OM's website:

4 Way = $319
Super Squirt = $195
Squirt = $125

IMO that's a significant price difference between either of the Squirt models and the 4 Way. As for the cost between the CL and the Tunze setup:

Tunze Turbelle stream Kit TS24 (2 6100s & Multicontroller) = $884.54 (per the Tunze Website)
CL = $219 Dart (Premium Aquatics) + $195 (OM's SS) = $414 + plumbing costs

The cost of the CL pump and OM's SS is pretty much equal to the cost of a single Tunze stream from what I've seen. For me, cost is always a serious factor in any equipment decision. Both initial purchase cost and maintainence/lifetime costs.

But between the Tunze Streams (not familiar with the 7000 stream model?) and the Dart/SS combo, ... Tough call. Personally I'd probably go with the CL; however I do believe that the Tunze's would probably give you more flow with less power consumption. IMO one of the advantages to the CL system is that you can have the flow come from more than just two locations within the tank - use all 4 ports on the OM units.
