I am no an expert on water softeners but the RO Drinking water system they picture looks pretty basic. It appears to have a prefilter, carbon filter of some sort or another, RO membrane and post membrane taste and odor GAC carbon. It also pictures a permeate pump, faucet and bladder tank.
This is a fairly common configuration for drinking water systems although you don't usually find a permeate pump which is a good item to have if you have a pressurized system. For reef tank water I think this may be lacking in several areas but without knowing what the housings contain in the way of filters its hard to say. Have they provided you with any of the technical data on the RO? You need to know what brand and GPD rating the membrane is, what the micron rating is on the prefilter and if the carbon is a block or Granular and if it is a block what brand, micron and chlorine adsorption rating it is. |

Oh no, I don't care about the RO; the Typhoon III is in the mail. I just thought you'd maybe have some input on the softener system. We need one for the house and this one seems good to me, but what do I know.
