what is this sand bucket denitrator?
I saw a post for a sand bucket denitrater it is a salt bucket filled will sand to 2" from the bottom of the bulkheads mounted top sides each end.
And the water 200 gph flow over top the sand with no light needed and the RC persons who set one up had there nitrates go to zero in weeks. Is this right has any one using this it realy works? |

Are you talking about this setup as discussed in Calfo's former forum?

No, I'm not currently using one. I have seen some posts on that thread from folks saying it's working. I'm considering doing it, but right now my bioload is really low given the size of my tank and my nitrates are almost nonexistant, so I'm not overly worried about it at the moment. I have bigger fish to fry....oops...I mean, other stuff to be working on.
