Just Got My Tunzes
Great stuff, but I hate those cheap mounting stuff it comes w/.
anywhere on the net I searched they were out of the magnet holders, but I did find one site that by luck had them, phewww. Even w/ this stuff turned down almost lowest level, I still get some softies shaking around. How can I tell if the flow may be too much for the softies at the bottom of the tank? I mean if they open up does it mean they are happy and I shouldn't worry? Also, what's the best setting as far as the multicontroller goes? What's most recommended that'll benefit the SPS the most? I have the two 6100's w/ the 7095 multicontroller. Thanks |

I don't know if this will help you but I just asked a similar question in the Tunze forum.

The mounting kit is a PITA, but it works -- just takes a lot of extra time. You can also just zip tie them to an old algae cleaning magnet. I have a pair of 6060s in my 125, and softie / LPS placement becomes a challenge. The SPS will prefer maximum flow, as long as they're not directly in the stream. The softies / LPS prefer low to medium flow, so you'll probably have to move them several times. Best diffusion of the flow is putting one in each back corner aimed at the opposite diagonal corner, intersecting in the middle. Softies / LPS can then be easily placed in the corners / along edges where the flow will be relatively tame.
Just mess with it for a while, with my uneven aquascaping (walled up one side, nothing on the other) it took me some time to fine tune where the streams crossed to allow some lower flow areas on my aquascaping.

I've ordered the two 6000's, and controller, from Roger's advice.
Seems like the 6100's are a bit much for a sofite /LPS tank? Opinions from anyone? |
