what do you do with old DI
did i read somewhere that it could be reactivated?

Yes,
It needs to first be seperated into individual anion and cation beads. Then they need to be recahrged in caustics soda and acid. Once this is done they need to be fully washed and then the chemical disposed of. A messy job, and not really worth the trouble for most of us. If you resin needs are extreme, then it may be something to look at. There is lenty of "DI recharge" info available on the net.... I am not going to go into the details, as they internet sites devote a lot more space and time to this subject and cover all aspects of the process. |

so just throw it away when you go thru 24 oz. a year.

yup, unless you feel frisky enough to try to recharge it. I though it was a great plan, until I really thought about it!
