brown sand?

i just recently set up my tank, it has been cycled. i guess the sand has diatoms on it. should i try to stir the sand up or try to vaccum it off the top. i do not like to vaccum, but if it is nessecary i will. i just added a few cerith snails and a conch hoping that would help. does anyone have any suggestions that would help? or will time just take care of the problem. thanks

it should go away but I would get a small hose and siphon it off the top,

patience is a virtue. Time will take care of the diatoms.
