Large Maroon Problem, Please Advise!!!

My maroon has a swollen belly and it looks like a white film on both sides, I'd say three spots on each side about the size of a dime. I am also noticing on the bottom of its belly it looks like the scales are detoriating. It looks rough, and hasn't eaten in couple of days.

I noticed the lack of appetite the other day, but couldn't tell anything was wrong until last night. The white spots look like they may be expelling some mucus. I have read and can't figure if it is the clown fish didease or not?? Any advice on treatment???

I had a nice size Maroon once, but it died. Right before it died, it showed the same signs as yours did. White film on the sides, loss of appetite, and some scales appearing to come off. It took two days, then it croaked. Not a good sign, I wish I could help you.

I would identify the problem as quickly as possible or you risk your other fish. You may want to get it out of the tank into QT asap.

Regards,

Pat

That thread has some ideas. I certainly don't know what the trouble is, but you could try in the fish disease forum. How long have you had the fish? The patches might be fungal in nature, and a hospital tank would be useful, if so.
