Exclamation i need urgent help before its too late

i just transfered all my fish to a new tank that is twice the size of my previous tank, the filter i have on now isn't sufficient. i have another filter to put on but it has been on a fresh water tank for over 6 months and i dont know if there is anything special i need to do in order to make the filter reef and fish safe. the tank was never treated with copper or any medicine.

the fresh water tank that it's coming from is a 125, and the new reef tank that it's going to is a 110. the filter is a Cascade 1500.

The filter off of the freshwater shouldn't hurt anything on the saltwater tank. If it's a reef all you need for filtration is live rock, lots of flow and some combination or all three of a good skimmer, fuge and sandbed.

You say that you just transferred all your fish and that you have "numerous" fish? Your heading says that you need urgent help before it is too late. Has the tank cycled, yet? Are you having specific problems or are you anticipating some? I guess I'm a little confused? Did you also transfer some type of stuff that helps with the cycling process?

Good luck, Frank

you should be fine. just make sure the tank stays temp steady and if you have Cured LR you should be even better!. Just keep a routine water change regimen
