SEIO. . . "mod"?

What was the SEIO "Mod". . I've heard it mentioned as the best way to run a seio. I have a seio 620.

I've seen pictures of seios where they were stripped and looked almost like tunzes they way they were mounted. Is this it?

If so how is this done?
