Can you shake di resin?

The TDS on my ro/di water started to go up but only a small portion of the resin is turned red. Can i shake the resin to get more out of it. The resin was bought in the end of december and i think i only have run about 300 gallons through it.

Edit: Whats weird is it changed at the top.....my old one turned red from bottom up.

yes, shake it up to get rid of any previous paths the water would take
