T5 users with center braces, how bad is the shadow?

im stuck on either a 75 and 65 g tanks. the sticking point is the damn center brace. im 99% sure im going with T5's and am curious as to what type of shadow i should be expecting.

is it bad? noticeable? or just barely visible?

any images would be greatly appreciated

tia

I'll try and post a pic later, but on my tank I can't even see a shadow.

There are no shadows. Pretty much there will be no shadows anywhere in your tank, unless you have a very large overhang.

remember, the shadow i am talking about will be under a center brace. that is my only concern.

i have seen some tanks with a slight shadow due to the brace was not sure what type of flourscent lighting was used.

75gal. Center overflow, so there's 2 braces, one on each side of the overflow. The braces are clear though, and No shadow.

I have a 6' tank, with 4 - 4' T5's. I have them overlap over the centre brace, and it is extrememly bright, and you see no shadow.

Shadows from braces come from metal halides. They are a "Spot source" of light (like the sun), instead of a longer tube.

No shadows at all. Although you may wish you had some shadows for some coral due to the intensity of a proper T5 setup .
