Halides not firing
Heres the situation: I have my timer on my halides set to come on at 12 noon. They dont. The ballast comes on, but the bulbs dont fire. I have to go down and mess with the bulbs for a few minutes until they fire - unscrew them, switch them, etc. Then the same thing will happen the next day. For a few days I replaced them with my year old XM's and didnt have this problem. These bulbs are new - started using them Feb 1. They are Reeflux 10K. They worked great until about a week ago, and this problem showed up out of no where. My dad and I did a quick glance into the sockets and there didnt seem to be any corrosion or anything. If it matters, they are 250w single ended in spider reflectors, PFO magnetic ballast. Anyone know whats going on here? I dont even know if this is a problem with the ballast, bulb, or the combination of both. I know the timer is working because I have a fan plugged into the same timer which comes on as usual.
Thanks.
