Feather Macro-Algae Help
I've been up and running for about 7 months. I've had just about every algae bloom expected in a new tank. Red slime, brown slime, green hair etc. It has all been self limited and my Kole tang and clean up crew has done the rest.
I do however get this macro algae that is about 2in long and looks like feathers growing in a few pockets. Only thing that has helped it is physically grabbing it and ripping it out. Is there anything else to do about it. Or anything that will eat this stuff. Thanks.

Feather algae is a good maro algae but they can go asexual (sp?). I have it feather algae but I grow it in my refugium not in the main tank. Once in a while I feed some to my tangs and they eat it like there is no tomorrow. Sailfin tangs erradicate them quickly IME.

Yeah, got a sailfin, he ignores it. It only grows in 2 or 3 spots, but it can get pretty thick. I suppose it's not even all that bad, but it reeeeeally bothers me. Looks like weeds in a garden.
