What are the purple looking corals? They are very cool.
Is The fish in the first pic come from the file fish family?

Nice seagrass and SH.. I'm guessing Zostera marina hosting potbelly and maybe breviceps seahorses? Are they in the same system as the reef or a plumbed system to the reef?

Overall it looks fantastic, reminiscent of the beautiful strawberry anemone covered rockwork in the cold water tanks of the Monterey Bay aquarium.

There are really two cold tanks....the larger one is about 120 gals.....and the smaller one is about 45 gals. The smaller tank is for my grunt sculpins and seahorses. The two tanks are joined with a common sump. To prevent sweating, the tanks and sump are made from 1" thick acrylic. Temp is maintained at 58F - 60F with a 1/2hp chiller. Lights are just a couple T5's over each tank. There's also a small skimmer in the sump....that's it. The stock comes from either Puget Sound or Tasmania in southern Australia.

Samala.....you are correct.

Skysdale.....yes it was....and next weeks trip to a spot past Port Angeles looks promising too.

Skepperz.....what are you thinking ? you have a great resourse in your backyard that will blow away most warm water reefs.

Blown346.....not sure which critter that you're refering too.....but, there are very few corals in the tank.....most of the critters are inverts like anemones, stars, urchins, corynactus strawberry anemones, etc. The only coral in the tank are some cold water tubestreas that seem to do just fine.

Zemuron114.....this blue devil came from Tasmania

Nice tank(s). Reminds me of when I use to have mine setup though I was 10 degrees colder than you are. Looks like everything is doing fine though.

Careful, don't get into the Marine Preserve. They watch it like a hawk.
