Mixing Blood and Coral Banded Shrimp
Has anyone ever kept a Blood shrimp and Coral Banded shrimp together in the same tank? It's a 45 gallon corner with 40 lbs of TBS rock.
Both are full grown. Thanks. |

Kept two fire shrimp and a pair of CB shrimp together in a 55g FO tank before. No problems. JME.

From what I've heard, it's possible to mix CBS with other types of shrimp in large (read: larger than 75G tanks), and is not recommended in smaller than that.
Results may vary however, and naturally it depends on the individual animals. |

UPDATE;
I did the switch a few days ago and everything seems fine. I'm just going to make sure I keep everyone fed! |

When I feed my fish I drop a single shrimp pellet in the tank. With seconds my very large CBS senses the smell and makes a bee-line for the pellet. This seems to keep him from eating my other shrimp which he did several times before I started feeding him.
