Exclamation Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I just got a Remora and it is making the loudest racket. Water is flowing through the skimmer like there is no tomorrow, and I have to sleep in the same room tonight! How do you tune down a Remora? I have seen them at work before, and it wasn't half as loud as mine.

Please Help,

Vishy

I am not familiar with Remora as I have never owned one. Maybe it has to break in or there is something wrong with the pump.

It probably does not have to break in, as it is used and was taken off the other tank only a couple days ago. The pump should be okay also. There should be a way to slow the skimmer down, right?

O.k.
Just take a paper towel or better yet........ two, and fold them into approx a 2" x 2" square. Wet the square with tank water and squeeze all the water out......just so the paper towel is damp. Remove the collection cup. Lay the paper towel under the collection cup in the cavity just above the spray nozzle plumbing. Try to fit the damp paper towel into the cavity with the towel completely fitting up to the sides of the chamber........but without the towel falling down to the spray nozzle and water .
That should quiet your Remora down a LOT.
Sleep well !!!!!!!!!
Let us know how it works.
DO NOT throttle back your pump.......the Remora works best on high pressure.
Later ..............Herbie

I am not sure how often to replace the p-towel really ??? I think about once a month would be sufficient. Maybe even longer. Just monitor it to make sure it hasnt fallen into the spray injector.
Glad to have helped........sleep well.
Later..............Herbie

I slept great last night. It is quieter than the Prizm, but you have to get used to the slight spraying noise.
